About

John G. Bacopulos

My goal is to bring my varied experiences to each new engagement to help with any short or long term challenges you are facing and find the optimal solution for the issues at hand whether strategic, financial, competitive or operational. The objective, to help sustain, grow or redirect existing business, whether currently successful or facing new challenges in uncertain times.

A bit of background…

My executive career began as a Principal Operating Officer with one of the first international conglomerates, Gulf and Western Industries, responsible for all its Canadian real estate holdings.

Followed by the Presidency of the Canadian real estate spin-off Famous Players Realty Limited, to Principal and Controlling Shareholder of Famous Players Development Corp Ltd.

In 1986, I led a group in the purchase of Web Offset Publications as CEO, Director and majority shareholder. Most recently serving as President of Renaissance Printing, a successor company to Web Offset.

Throughout my career I have counselled and advised numerous start-up and established business ventures engaged in wide ranging enterprises such as real estate, hospitality, print manufacturing, communications and technology.

I am committed to anticipating evolving industry standards and implementing state of the art technologies – forging strategies at the forefront of respective industries.

On the real estate side my experience extends to real estate ownership, management, development, construction and disposition, finding solutions to complex and challenging issues. Structuring, negotiating and implementing complex acquisitions, financings, leases and divestitures are all within my transactional skill set. I am experienced in structuring ventures with joint venture partners, equity investors or co-venture participants including sophisticated investment structures.

On the print manufacturing side, I have owned and managed printing companies and am well versed in many aspects of operating mid to large sized businesses with a handful or hundreds of employees. I led the transition from analog to digital technology of printing related processes as well as the transition from coldest newspaper and flyer printing to heat-set magazine printing. In 1998 I conceived and created LinkPath, a technology linking print on paper to an interactive online experience.

I look forward to being your a collaborative strategic advisor, eager to assist in your strategic planning, management and operations concerns, development opportunities or to simply provide a clear-eyed candid review of what your business is and what is necessary to take it to the next level.
